Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)

Since the average person spends 90% of the time indoors, air quality is so important for our health and well-being. It is evident that the level of indoor air pollution is over 5 times greater than the outside air.

Hong Kong SAR Government has conducted an Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) study for a variety of commercial buildings and establishments. The study concluded that the air quality in about one-third of the office buildings is perceived as unsatisfactory by the occupants and has violated WHO or relevant overseas standards.

The quality of indoor environment has a significant impact on human health and comfort. There has been increasing concern from the Hong Kong SAR Government in the subject of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) since the early nineties. The Hong Kong SAR Government has issued Specification and Guidance Notes to further enhance and improve the implementation of the Indoor Air Quality Management in Hong Kong.

　

Dust, Odour, Smoke, Temperature & Humidity Control (Environmental Control)

Besides the Indoor Air Quality, the Environmental Protection Department has enforced Ordinances and Guidance Notes for control of construction dust, odour, smoke, and air exhaust systems especially the industrial and kitchen exhaust systems.
